Molly Norfleet, a native Memphian and the
owner of Seize The Clay, has along history of love and experience with
children, families, art, and the world (both land and sea). Molly
attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where she received her
Bachelors of Science in Child and Family Studies with a concentration in
Child Development. She went on to complete her Masters of Science in
Child and Family Studies with a focus on Family studies and a cognate
concentration in Family Focused Early Childhood Special Education.
Meanwhile at UTK, Molly’s other love of dance allowed her to be part of
the New Reparatory Dance Company. Molly has worked with children and
families and is thrilled to have the opportunity to use her gifts and
schooling to work with children and families at Seize The Clay.
At the age of 5, Molly learned to sneak up on macho scuba divers with
her snorkel, pretending to be a fish. We’re not sure, but she may be a
mermaid because Erik could swear that he spotted gills and maybe even a
tail while she was near water. Although she is an avid Scuba Diver and
prefers clear, warm ocean water, her blood does run orange to prove her
allegiance to the University of Tennessee Volunteers.
Molly loves all creatures great and small, omnivorous, carnivorous,
herbivorous, frivolous and especially ridiculous. She has a true
appreciation for the absurd or she would never be able to tolerate the
like of all of the Seize The Clay crazy staff. Molly’s passion of
children and families, dance, snorkeling and scuba diving, culminates in
her ability to celebrate her “Joie de Vivre” with all the eclectic
artists and the like through Seize The Clay contacts in the Memphis
community.
